Plum Island Fire Department (NY)

Plum Island is an 840-acre, federally owned island situated 1.5 miles off Orient Point. Historically used as a coastal artillery post known as Fort Terry, it became home to the Plum Island Animal Disease Center (PIADC) in 1954.
