New Egypt Volunteer Fire Company (NJ)
New Egypt got its name due to its history of grain farming and a biblical allusion. The area was called "Egypt" in 1793, because of the plentiful corn and buckwheat flour stored during the Revolutionary War. The name "New Egypt" was adopted in 1801.
