Early1980s, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, an Indian guru, established a commune called Rajneeshpuram in rural Oregon. Located on a 64,229-acre ranch, it attracted thousands of followers, and led to conflict with authorities. The commune collapse in 1985.
