KI Sawyer AFB Fire Department (MI)

DEFUNCT - The rainbow painted on the tail of some aircraft at K.I. Sawyer AFB, was a symbol of hope, remembrance, and a journey to the "end of the rainbow" for fallen comrades, a poignant tradition among military aviation communities honoring those who didn't return. The base closed in 1995.
